YD-2AB is a white EVA hot melt adhesive in flake form for book spine gluing on perfect binding lines.
In perfect binding, the spine of the book block is milled or notched and then coated with hot melt before the cover is applied. YD-2AB is the adhesive for that spine application, holding every page in place under the cover.
A melt viscosity of 3500±500 mPa·s at 180°C and a softening point of 89±5°C give the adhesive enough body to coat the prepared spine.
Most perfect binders also run a narrow side glue along the first and last pages. YD-3AC is our side-gluing flake grade for the same line.

Where It's Used
YD-2AB is the spine glue in perfect binding: it is applied to the prepared spine of the book block and holds every page in place under the cover. It is supplied as white EVA flakes for bookbinding melt pots.
