About This Grade
YD-5289 is a white APAO hot melt adhesive in granule form, formulated for sealing laminated, film-coated cartons.
For coated and laminated board
Film lamination gives gift boxes and retail cartons their gloss or matte finish, but it also leaves a slick surface that standard carton sealing adhesives find hard to wet. YD-5289 is formulated for this harder-to-bond surface.
Low viscosity, defined softening point
Melt viscosity is 950±200 mPa·s at 180°C and the softening point is 105±5°C, values close to our standard APAO carton grade YD-5100.
Test on your own board
Laminated board varies with the film type and surface treatment, so we recommend a line trial. Send us a sample of your carton and we will ship granules for testing.

Sealing Film-Laminated Cartons
Film-laminated cartons have a slick, coated surface that general carton sealing adhesives find hard to wet. YD-5289 is an APAO grade formulated specifically for sealing these laminated cartons, typical of gift boxes and retail packs with a gloss or matte film finish.
